A collection of works by Robert Combas, a French artist who was called the "Basquiat of Europe" when Pop Art emerged, known for his raw graffiti and cartoon-style art.

I discovered him when I was a first-year working adult, diligently drawing in a really small apartment.
I really love this world view, which is both poisonous and scribbled, and I feel like this person was the starting point for me to combine "grotesque manga style x art."

He seems like he'd get along with Cookie of the Wild Bunch.

It's hard to see his work in Japan, so I had to settle for art books from overseas, but by chance, I went to France for work, and his paintings were displayed in various galleries there.

I think it's one of my most moving memories.

I always feel power in paintings that seem to leak a person's obsession. It's not that it can't be done with a minimal style, but paintings that make you feel the background of running while dripping gasoline are beautiful.
